This Copper Statue of a Mountain Lion on a Polished Granite Base Was Erected in 1896 on What is Now Known as Monument Avenue in Historic Old Bennington, Vermont to Mark the Site of the Original Catamount Tavern (Meeting Place of Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys) Which Was Built in 1767 and Burned to the Ground in 1871
