  1. Years ago, when the kids were small, we acquired a pair of young ring neck doves. Turned out, the birds multiplied — and we gave a pair to a family friend. I just spoke with her yesterday. She lives in Malibu, and had to evacuate for the awful 2018 Woolsey Fire, bringing her last remaining dove with her. She proudly told me that the original dove mom lived to the age of 21! :)) Dawn
